This is my first stone turning. After doing some work with redwood burl at my job, I was inspired by the beauty of the wood. That inspiration led to me thinking of ways to use the redwood that was left over.

    Remembering the alabaster that was left over from the carving I started, it dawned on me to use it with the wood.

    This is what I came up with (it's about 3 1/2 inches in diameter) . . .
